Egypt uncertainty, hopeless young people

From Mission Network News:

Egypt uncertainty, hopeless young people

POSTED: 17 JANUARY, 2012
Egypt (MNN) ― Egyptians seem hopeless. That's the message from at least one ministry leader in Egypt as one of the top reform leaders, Mohammed ElBaradei, pullout from the presidential race. His surprise move dealt another severe blow to the secularists who were behind the fall of Mubarak. This could be confirmation that the "new" Egypt is headed toward Islamic fundamentalism rather than a secular focus.
President of IN Network USA Rody Rodehaver explains why ElBaradei's withdrawal is a concern. "ElBaradei was one of the leading candidates and a very popular figure with people who were moderates -- people who wanted a good democratic government in place."
However, Rodeheaver thinks Elbaradei saw the writing on the wall as the recent parliamentary elections saw 80% of the seats taken by individuals with ties to radical Islam.
Some Egyptians believe radicals have hijacked their country. "The young people who met on January 25 and started that revolution in that square are now feeling that it was all for nothing. And there's a hopelessness that is beginning to grip them."
Rodeheaver wants them to keep hoping. His prayer is that "in spite of that, the Christians will see this as a tremendous opportunity to share the hope of the Gospel and new life and freedom in Jesus Christ."
He says there are Christian groups meeting throughout Egypt "to train young Egyptian Christians how to share their faith and how to speak to the vacuum, the hopelessness that now exists." Rodeheaver added, "Some of those young revolutionaries are feeling as if they accomplished nothing, and perhaps January 25 would be a day they would have to start the revolution over."
The time now is to pray for Christians in Egypt. Rodeheaver says the revolution has affected the work. "Some of the transportation lines -- the trains, the highways -- have been cut, and they're not really safe because of some of the criminal elements that have taken over."
However, that's not stopping the work of their partners completely as they'll be holding a training session for more than 100 young people.
The revolution has also caused economic problems in Egypt. Rodeheaver says, "The cost of everything has gone up. There are shortages, which makes it more difficult. The cost of ministry and doing ministry escalates."
Today there are more than 8,000 correspondence lessons that are sent throughout the region. $50 a month can help support the program. Click here to help Egyptians learn more about Christ.

UK: Muslims turn increasingly to Sharia courts, women hardest hit

From Jihad Watch:

UK: Muslims turn increasingly to Sharia courts, women hardest hit
Yet no one, least of all Western feminists, seems in the least concerned about Sharia's institutionalized discrimination against women. "Growing use of Sharia by UK Muslims," by Divya Talwar for the BBC, January 16 (thanks to all who sent this in):

The use of Sharia, or Islamic religious law, is growing in Britain, with thousands of Muslims using it to settle disputes each year, but women's groups and some others are objecting.
''You must speak the truth, sister. Because Allah is listening to your every word, you can lie to us but not to Him.''

The bearded sheikh is instructing his first client of the day to explain why she is unhappy in her marriage.

Sitting behind a small desk in the back room of a converted terrace house, Sheikh Haitham al-Haddad is a representative of the Islamic Sharia Council, the largest Sharia body in the UK, based in Leyton, east London.

The woman has come to the council for an Islamic divorce because her husband refuses to grant her one.

''I'm not happy. He's never at home and I've seen messages from other women on his phone. He doesn't even give money to help support the kids,'' the woman tells the sheikh.

It is easier for a Muslim man to end a marriage in Islam, but a wife must persuade the judges to grant her a dissolution if her husband is opposed to divorce.

The case is typical of those case dealt with by Sharia councils, as thousands of Muslims are turning to them to help resolve family, financial and commercial problems in accordance with Sharia principles.

Growing demand

An estimated 85 Sharia councils could be operating in Britain, according to a 2009 report by the think tank Civitas.

Several bodies like the Islamic Sharia Council have seen a large increase in their cases in the past five years.

''Our cases have easily more than tripled over the past three to five years," says Sheikh al-Haddad.

''On average, every month we can deal with anything from 200 to 300 cases. A few years ago it was just a small fraction of that.

''Muslims are becoming more aligned with their faith and more aware of what we are offering them,'' he explained.

The principles of Sharia govern all aspects of a Muslim's life. It is derived from a combination of sources including the Koran, the Hadith, which is based on the example of the prophet Muhammad, and fatwas, which are rulings of Islamic scholars.

Saba Zia is a practising Muslim who lives in Reading with her three children. She became a single mother when her husband walked out on her after 13 years of marriage.

"He went to Pakistan for three years and stopped paying the bills and the mortgage.

"I let myself and my kids go. I started starving myself. I would go on average three days not eating anything at all. I remember on one occasion it was seven days. I even started cutting myself. I was aware of what I was doing but I had no control."

Two and a half years after her husband left her, Saba asked him for an Islamic divorce. It was more important to her than her civil divorce.

"I just picked up the phone and said to him: 'Give me a divorce.' But he wasn't going to make it easy for me. That's when I went to the Sharia council."

The Sharia council supported Saba and helped her get the religious divorce she was seeking.

"For me the religious divorce, the Talak, was the first port of call, the most important. The civil divorce was something that could come later. I had to have closure in the eyes of God first.

"I felt like I wasn't alone. They recognised my rights and they helped me move on with my life."

Sharia has been operating in the UK, managed by locally-appointed councils, in parallel to the British legal system since 1982.

But the informal councils have no legal powers and they cannot impose any penalties.

They deal with civil cases alone, but many Muslims are choosing to voluntarily accept rulings made by the scholars.

Omar Hannan, 28, from Solihull, turned to Sharia instead of the British courts after an ownership dispute broke out between the British Muslim partners at his industrial cleaning company.

''It fulfilled my Islamic spiritual principles which was the main reason I went to a Muslim tribunal.

''But it was also very quick. We resolved it in three to four months,'' he said.

''It only cost a couple of hundred pounds, and you can imagine how much it would have cost through the English legal system,'' he added.

As a demand for Sharia thrives, a number of British law firms are starting to tap into the booming market.

Muslim Lawyer Aina Khan has launched one of the first Sharia departments at her London-based law firm.

She offers clients advice that is in keeping with both English and Islamic law.

''I am surprised that the majority of people that I am dealing with are under the age of 50. They are British Muslims who want to satisfy their British identity as well as their Muslim one.

''So I give them solutions to their problems that satisfy both legal systems all under one place.''

Despite the growing demand for Sharia law in Britain, there is also increasing opposition by some groups who argue that the practice discriminates against women.

The Iranian and Kurdish Women's Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is campaigning to bring an end to the practice.

''We have spoken to many women and all of them tell us the same story; Sharia law is not providing them with the justice they seek. The councils are dominated by men, who are making judgements in favour of men,'' said Diana Nammi.

Concerns such as these have led crossbench peer Baroness Cox to introduce a bill before the House of Lords, aimed at introducing regulation of Sharia organisations in the UK.

The bill has received its first reading and is expected to get a second reading later this year.

But for groups like IKWRO the bill does not go far enough.

''We think there shouldn't be any religious law practising in Britain - all Sharia bodies should be banned. That is the only way we can ensure equality of justice for all women," argues Diana Nammi....

Indeed.

Switzerland: Muslim hacks daughter to death with axe for dating a Christian

From Jihad Watch:

Switzerland: Muslim hacks daughter to death with axe for dating a Christian
It is no accident or coincidence that Muslims commit 91 percent of honor killings worldwide. A manual of Islamic law certified as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy by Al-Azhar University, the most respected authority in Sunni Islam, says that "retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right." However, "not subject to retaliation" is "a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring's offspring." ('Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2). In other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under Islamic law.

Syria in 2009 scrapped a law limiting the length of sentences for honor killings, but "the new law says a man can still benefit from extenuating circumstances in crimes of passion or honour 'provided he serves a prison term of no less than two years in the case of killing.'" And in 2003 the Jordanian Parliament voted down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. Al-Jazeera reported that "Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values."

Nonetheless, the media drumbeat is constant: honor killings have nothing to do with Islam. And so they continue, as no one ever challenges Muslim authorities to do anything to stop them.

"Dad killed daughter in brutal axe murder," from The Local, January 13 (thanks to Twostellas):

A Swiss prosecutor has described as a "veritable slaughter" the vicious axe murder of a 16-year-old girl by her 53-year-old Pakistani father, who believed his daughter had tarnished her family's honour.
The charge sheet presented by prosecutor Ulrich Krättli suggests he will call for the accused to be given life in prison, the maximum sentence under Swiss law, when the high-profile case goes to trial on March 14th.

On May 10th 2010, 16-year-old Swera was picked up at a Zurich police station by both her parents. She had been held there by police after she was arrested for a minor theft.

Once back at their apartment in Höngg, on the outskirts of the city, a heated argument broke out between father and daughter, newspaper Tages Anzeiger reports.

The girl said she wanted to leave home permanently and started to pack her things. She then went down to the basement of the building to get a pair of shoes. While she was gone, her father allegedly retrieved an axe from the balcony and hid it in the bedroom he shared with his wife.

Once she was back in the apartment, the girl went into her parents' bedroom to pick up some of her belongings. When she bent down to get some things from the wardrobe, her father hit her with the axe on the back of the head, the prosecutor says. The man struck his daughter 19 times with the axe: 12 times with the blade and seven with the blunt end.

The teenager not die instantly, but lay on the ground in agonising pain for several minutes until her life finally slipped away.

The father left the axe between her legs, pointing to the feet, a gesture Krättli does not want to interpret, but that usually has sexual connotations and expresses the motives behind the murder, newspaper Tages Anzeiger reports.

After washing his hands, he left the apartment and called his wife to say he had killed his daughter. Fifteen minutes later, he called the police, who arrested him shortly after near his apartment.

In an interview with newspaper Blick, Swera's boyfriend explained that the girl's parents had strongly disapproved of her relationship with him, primarily because he was a Christian. The boy said she was desperate to get away from her parents and had already sought help from a local youth shelter.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant killed his daughter because she had violated his archaic values and had brought shame on the family. Krättli says the Pakistani man had planned the killing “in cold blood”.

The 53-year-old man has remained in custody since the girl's death. He will be tried in March not just for the brutal killing of his daughter, but also for allegedly trying to kill her three weeks earlier.

On April 20th, the pair had argued after the girl's father suspected she had been smoking marijuana.

Seizing his chance while she was in the bathroom, he pushed her into the bathtub, turned on the tap and threw a hairdryer into the water.

He wanted to electrocute her, the prosecutor alleges, but his attempt failed because of an in-built security system in the appliance to prevent electric shocks upon contact with water. On that occasion, the 16-year-old girl managed to get away before running to a friend’s home in her wet clothes.

Vatican spokesman: "Among the most serious concerns, the increase in Islamic extremism merits special attention"

From Jihad Watch:

Vatican spokesman: "Among the most serious concerns, the increase in Islamic extremism merits special attention"
Note the top-ten list for countries persecuting Christians. It's probably "Islamophobic" to notice a pattern there. "Vatican spokesman laments religious persecution, cites ‘Islamic extremism’," from Catholic Culture, January 16 (thanks to Twostellas):

The director of the Holy See Press Office has used his weekly message to draw attention to the plight of persecuted Christians.
“The recent annual report of the international evangelical non-governmental organization Open Doors on the persecution of Christians in the world contains a world index of persecution according to which the first ten places are occupied by the following countries in descending order: North Korea, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Iran, Maldives, Uzbekistan, Yemen, Iraq and Pakistan,” notes Father Federico Lombardi.
“Among the most serious concerns, the increase in Islamic extremism merits special attention,” he continued. “Persons and organizations dedicated to extremist Islamic ideology perpetrate terrible acts of violence in many places throughout the world: the Boko Haram sect in Nigeria is but one example. Then there is the climate of insecurity that unfortunately in some countries accompanies the so-called “Arab spring”--a climate that drives many Christians to flee and even to emigrate.”
Christian martyrs don't explode:

“Such sufferings are a part of the Christian journey,” Father Lombardi concluded. “Nor ought we be amazed. Jesus said so in the Sermon on the Mount: ‘Blessed are they that are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,’ is the last of the Beatitudes; its promise is reward in heaven.”

U.K.: Muslim arrested for distributing literature calling for hanging of gay people says he was just doing his duty to inform about Islamic law

From Jihad Watch:

U.K.: Muslim arrested for distributing literature calling for hanging of gay people says he was just doing his duty to inform about Islamic law
The literature apparently gets some of its material from Minhaj al-Muslim, reminding one again of the comment-box apologists we've encountered who have insisted they've never heard of this book and we must have picked it out of the clear blue sky to tar Islam's reputation.

Then this guy must be a total Islamophobe. Or an Islamohomophobe. Or a Homoislamophobe? "'I was doing my duty as a Muslim,' says father who handed out leaflets saying gay people should be hanged," by Lucy Buckland for the Daily Mail, January 16 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

A father has told a court he was only doing his duty as a Muslim by handing out leaflets calling for gay people to be executed.
Kabir Ahmed, 28, said he handed a leaflet called Death Penalty? to a policeman and stuffed them through letterboxes across Derby because he was spreading the word of God as taught by Islam.
He said: 'My intention was to do my duty as a Muslim, to inform people of God’s word and to give the message on what God says about homosexuality.'
Married Ahmed, who has a nine-month-old daughter, is on trial with four other men at Derby Crown Court charged with inciting hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation, the first prosecution of its kind since legislation came into force in March 2010.
At the opening of the trial last week jurors were shown the Death Penalty? leaflet, which shows an image of a mannequin hanging from a noose and says that homosexuality is punishable by the death penalty under Islam.
He said it.

The leaflet states: 'The death sentence is the only way this immoral crime can be erased from corrupting society and act as a deterrent for any other ill person who is remotely inclined in this bent way.'
It goes on: 'The only dispute amongst the classical authorities was the method employed in carrying out the penal code,' and then goes on to offer burning, being flung from a high point such as a mountain or building, or being stoned to death as suitable methods.
There it is: "Gay people should be thrown head first off high buildings and if not killed on hitting the ground, they should be then stoned to death." - Minhaj al-Muslim (The Way of the Muslim)

Giving evidence today Ahmed, wearing a pair of grey trousers and a black shirt, said he had handed one of the Death Penalty? leaflets to PC Stephen Gregory on July 2 2010 as he was passing by the area of the Jamia Mosque in Rosehill Street following Friday prayers.
He told the court he felt it was his duty as a Muslim to inform and advise people wherever they may be committing sins, he would be failing if he did not. [...]
Calling for anyone to be put to death is quite different from expressing disapproval of any kind of behavior.

Prosecutor Bobbie Cheema told the court the Death Penalty? leaflet was not educational or informative but was simply 'threatening, offensive, frightening and nasty.'

Gay honor killing film shakes Turkey up, enrages Islamic supremacists

From Jihad Watch:

Gay honor killing film shakes Turkey up, enrages Islamic supremacists
"Islamist daily Vakit called it 'homosexual propaganda' by a gay lobby bent on 'legitimizing perversion through their so-called art.'" Remember, they're talking about a film about an honor killing. Vakit doesn't seem to mind the honor murder; it's the immorality that upsets them.

"Gay 'honor killing' movie shakes Turkey up," by Ece Toksabay for Reuters, January 20 (thanks to Anne Crockett):

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - On a hot summer's day in 2008, 26-year-old physics student Ahmet Yildiz was shot dead when he popped out from his Istanbul apartment to buy ice cream.
The main suspect in the killing, a fugitive still wanted by Turkish police, is Yildiz's father, who could not accept that his only son was in a homosexual relationship.

The case, widely believed to be Turkey's first gay "honor killing", has inspired a movie "Zenne", which opened on January 13 and explores gay sexual identity and prejudice in overwhelmingly Muslim Turkey.

"We had the movie idea in mind right after our dear friend Ahmet was killed," said Caner Alper, writer and co-director of the movie. "His story needed to be told."

Yildiz was born into a wealthy religious family in the ancient city of Sanliurfa, in Turkey's impoverished and conservative southeast, but moved to cosmopolitan Istanbul during his university years, seeking more freedom as a gay man.

In Istanbul, Yildiz started a new life and made new friends; he also began a gay relationship and eventually moved in with his boyfriend, who witnessed Yildiz's murder from the window of their apartment on the Asian side of the city divided by the Bosphorus Strait.

In the movie, Yildiz's character is encouraged to come out of the closet by a male belly dancer, or zenne, and a German photographer who has moved to Istanbul after a personal crisis in Afghanistan, where he accidentally caused the death of several children during a photo shoot. Both are fictional characters.

In real life, Yildiz's coming out as a gay man was seen as an affront in his deeply patriarchal and tribal family, even though his parents adored him, a cousin, Ahmet Kaya, told the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey.

LOOKING FOR A "CURE"

Yildiz's father had urged him to return to their village and to see a doctor and an imam to "cure" him of his homosexuality and get married, but Yildiz refused.

"Ahmet loved his family more than anything else and he was tortured about disappointing them," Kaya was quoted as saying in the foundation's report.

After he was killed, the family did not claim Yildiz's body for a proper Islamic burial -- an indication of the deep shame the family felt and that they had ceased to consider him one of their own. He was buried instead in a "cemetery for the nameless."...

Remember this? Pamela Geller and I dedicated the Aqsa Parvez Memorial Grove in Israel, in memory of a girl whose father and brother murdered her in an honor killing and who was then buried in an unmarked grave.

Islamist daily Vakit called it "homosexual propaganda" by a gay lobby bent on "legitimizing perversion through their so-called art."
Despite being the only suspect, Yildiz's father is still at large and is being tried in absentia.

Friends and activists, who have attended some of the hearings wearing masks bearing Yildiz's portrait, say the authorities lack the will to find the perpetrator.

Alper and Mehmet Binay, co-directors of the movie and together as a gay couple for 14 years, said they heard their friend Yildiz receive death threats from his family over the phone.

Yildiz filed an official complaint but failed to receive any protection, they said.

"Honor killings," or crimes carried out against mostly women and young girls seen to have tainted the family's name, are not uncommon in Turkey, particularly in poor and rural areas.

The European Union, which Turkey wants to join, has repeatedly urged Ankara to take a tougher stance against such crimes.

MILITARY PRACTICES

Turkey is often held as an example in the Middle East for marrying Islam and democracy, but Turkish gay activists say Ankara's human rights record is far from perfect.

One practice particularly abhorred by rights groups is the method by which gay men can be exempted from the required 16-month military service: they have to prove their homosexuality in medical tests and are compelled to provide photos of them having sex with other men.

In the movie, two characters undergoing one such examination are forced to wear make-up and dress in women's clothes, while doctors perform anal examinations.

According to Article 17 of the health regulations of the Turkish Armed Forces, homosexuality is considered a "psychosexual deviance."

"Turkey is going through a democratization process, and the army needs to enter this phase, too," said Binay.

"We don't live in a dream world and we don't expect it to happen all of a sudden in such a deep-seated institution, but at least they could stop the humiliating practices against gay men."

Turkish rights groups reported 24 killings of gay and transsexual individuals in the last two years. In most cases, courts reduced the sentences or the perpetrators were not found....

Pakistan: Accuser of Asia Bibi, sentenced to death for blasphemy, "weighed down by guilt"; appeal may not be heard until 2015

from Jihad Watch:

Pakistan: Accuser of Asia Bibi, sentenced to death for blasphemy, "weighed down by guilt"; appeal may not be heard until 2015
Asia Bibi is already frail, and a reported beating at the hands of a prison guard did not help. Authorities seem to be half hoping she will die in prison so they will be spared the fallout on one hand of carrying out her sentence, or on the other, of releasing her.

Qari Salam let himself be used by fellow Muslims who promised to "chase her through hell," and as a result, an innocent woman has been sentenced to death and dumped in a Pakistani jail after a show trial with no attorney or a chance to make a statement. The judge feared the wrath of Islamic supremacists who wanted her dead.

Salam is not ready to retract his charges, however, still believing that "it will bring me a better place in heaven."

Does Barack Obama know the name of Asia Bibi? Do Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, or Ron Paul? Anyone in a potential position to deal with foreign policy regarding Pakistan certainly should. "Aasia Bibi’s case: Weighed down by guilt, blasphemy accuser mulls pulling back," from the Express Tribune, January 21 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

A guilty prayer leader prowls the narrow, fetid streets of Ittanwali village in Nankana district.
At the forefront of a popular, polarising case, Qari Salam ostensibly regrets filing a blasphemy charge against an impoverished Christian woman, Aasia Bibi.

The source of his guilt – realisation that the case was not based on facts but on hyped religious emotions and personal bias of some village women.

Aasia has been languishing in Sheikhupura jail since a sessions court awarded her death sentence for insulting Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Support from London

Qari, according to some of his close friends, was now thinking of not pursuing the case anymore and expressed his desire to some of his friends, only to find himself in a difficult situation when activists of a religious organisation ‘convinced’ him not to change his mind.

“We will chase her through hell … don’t worry about the money, hiring best lawyers,” Salam told The Express Tribune, quoting the son of Khatm-e-Nabuwat’s London chapter’s leader.

The leader’s son flew in to Nankana from London after hearing that Salam might not go to Lahore High Court (LHC) when the review petition against Aasia’s conviction is taken up.

Salam himself, however, denied he ever thought of backtracking from his stance.

“How can I change my mind,” he said. “I believe it will bring me a better place in heaven. It gives me pleasure, it is my pride,” Salam told The Express Tribune.

Salam said Khatm-e-Nabuwat had hired Mustafa Chaudhry as counsel to fight his case in the higher court, and were ready to go to an extent to seek death for Aasia.

Counsel seek bail

While bullets may have silenced Aasia’s lone supporter, former Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer, they have faltered in the face of the silent resolve of her counsel.

Despite death threats from religious right [sic], Aasia’s lawyers are now planning to seek bail for her from LHC.
Lone supporter? Why no mention of Shahbaz Bhatti, who was also assassinated?

“Yes, we are ready to file a bail application and will be moving ahead with it in a couple of weeks,” said Rai Ajmal, one of the two lawyers who were Aasia’s counsel in Nankana court which sent her to gallows in 2010.
A review petition against the verdict filed by Rai, and a fellow lawyer Sardar Khan Chaudhry, is pending before the LHC and there are little chances that it can be taken up for at least another three years.

Rai said the LHC is still hearing review petitions filed in 2006-07, and judges are reluctant to use their discretionary powers to take up Aasia’s case on a priority basis due to its controversial nature.

Aasia’s review petition was filed in 2010 and, according to sources in the LHC, it will purportedly not be taken up before 2015, while Aasia languishes in jail.

U.K.: Prisoners converting to Islam for better food, "protection," better treatment

From Jihad Watch:

U.K.: Prisoners converting to Islam for better food, "protection," better treatment
This is nothing new, of course, but only a continuation of an already well documented phenomenon. As Ronald Reagan once said, if you want more of something, subsidize it.

And if you want behavior to be repeated, reward it. "A third of inmates at Feltham youth jail are Muslims... and more convert to get better food," from the Daily Mail, January 21 (thanks to Zulu):

A third of inmates at one of Britain’s most notorious youth jails are Muslims and the religion is attracting a large number of converts.
There are 229 Muslims out of a total of 686 youngsters detained at Feltham Young Offenders’ Institution in West London, according to Ministry of Justice figures.
There are now so many worshippers at Friday prayers that they have to be split between Feltham’s mosque and its gym.
Sources claim that converts are attracted by the chance of better food and a more comfortable regime.
But there are also fears that some are being radicalised.
During Ramadan, Muslim prisoners are given food in separate hot and cold containers so they can eat what they choose at the end of their daylight fast.
A source revealed: ‘Over the last few years there has been a huge surge in those attending Muslim services.
‘The popularity of the faith has surprised people. We are seeing a large number of inmates converting to Islam.'
He added: ‘There is a difference between mainstream believers and extremists, but the fear is that some in the jail are being radicalised.
'Others convert for protection or to have what they believe is an easier lifestyle.’
Prison insiders say most non-Muslims are locked up during Friday prayers because so many guards are needed to monitor the lunchtime service.
The Ministry of Justice said: ‘The Prison Service is committed to ensuring the religious needs of prisoners of all faiths are met.’

Denmark: Church Ministry to change name to accommodate Muslims

From Jihad Watch:

Denmark: Church Ministry to change name to accommodate Muslims
The Danish Left won the elections September 15, 2011. The first 100 days in power, they managed to break 100 promises. Up to now the only ones who have benefited from the Left's victory are immigrants and unemployed.

I met the new Danish Church Minister, Manu Sareen, a couple of years ago in a live debate on national TV. During the debate he criticised me for saying that integration of Muslims is not possible. When the cameras were turned off I asked him if he himself really thought that integration of Muslims was possible. He answered, "Sometimes I think yes. Sometimes I must admit that I lose hope."

Sareen does what he can to stay popular within certain circles: "SF wants to rename the Church Ministry," translated from jp.dk:

The Church Ministry should be renamed in order to accommodate the growing population of Muslims in Denmark. This is the wish of the left wing of the Parliamentary Church Committee, said TV2 News.
Instead, Church Ministry should be renamed to Ministry of Philosophy of Life.

- People have all kinds of faiths and philosophies of life, and we must accommodate, says SF Vigsø Pernille Bagge.

The Catalan government recently withdrew benefits from 4,500 North Africans who went back to live in North Africa while still receiving money from the Spanish taxpayer. A recently-introduced reform requires them to show their passports when claiming benefits so the staff can see whether they’ve been abroad without notifying the welfare authorities. That’s what these savages are complaining about!

How the Jiziya Keeps us Safe From Islamic Terrorism

“Real Conservatives don’t cut aid[jizya].”
Tell me about it. Australia has been paying billions to Indonesia alone for mosques and madrassas in the vain hope that some imaginary kind of “moderate Islam” would be taught there. No such luck. Thanks to Mullah we have a video from an ex-Muslim to show you how the jiziya makes us”safer and richer”- apart from that it might interest you that muslims are obliged to swear and curse you while you’re paying for your protection.  In blood:
Andrew Mitchell: aid makes Britain safer and richer  (Telegraph)

Britain’s growing foreign aid [jizya] budget can do as much for national security as the Army, Navy and RAF, says Andrew Mitchell, the International Development Secretary.
Even as most Government departments’ budgets are being cut, aid [jizya] spending is rising by more than a third to almost £11billion in 2014-15 as the Coalition aims for a United Nations target of 0.7 per cent of GDP.
Andrew Mitchell, International Development Secretary: fantasy based policies to keep us safe from the Koranimals……
“Our security in London and Birmingham is not just provided by soldiers and tanks and fighter jets, it is also provided by training the police in Afghanistan, by building up governance structures in the Middle East and by getting girls into school in the Horn of Africa. Those things are all part of what makes us safer.”
By addressing instability and conflict “upstream”, he says, Britain can avert the future security threats that even the poorest countries can pose to the richest. Aid work in Somalia today could prevent the need for military intervention there tomorrow, he says.
A Commons whip under Sir John Major, he wrestled with the Maastricht rebels and formed a strong bond with his fellow whip, David Davis. In 2005, he ran Mr Davis’ leadership campaign, but has since become a staunch ally of the Cameroon modernisers; they regard increasing aid spending as a vital part of changing the Conservative Party’s image and thinking.
More than 60 Tory MPs, including David Cameron, have now taken part in Project Umubano, and the party “has been changed quite radically on development” Mr Mitchell says.
He refuses to question the intentions or ethics of his opponents: “I don’t think that the people who disagree with this are in any way dishonourable; I completely understand that at a time of great stress these are very difficult decisions.” But in a swipe at some of his own party, he adds: “Real Conservatives don’t cut aid[jizya].”
