Syrian civil war threatens Christian presence, prelate warns

Christians are leaving Syria to escape the spreading violence in that country, reports the Chaldean Catholic Archbishop of Aleppo.
Archbishop Antoine Audo observed that “Christians are the minority most threatened by Syria’s civil war.” For a growing number of them, he said, “fleeing is our only salvation.” The archbishop voiced fears that the civil war could endanger the Christian presence in Syria.
