From Jihad Watch:
New Jersey: Boy suspended from school because Muslim girl overheard him saying "Taliban"
She "perceived" that he was looking at her when he said it. And so he is duly suspended, because the new cardinal rule is that one must not offend the new Privileged Class. They say they suspended him because her feelings were hurt -- yet if that became the criterion for suspension in high school, there would be no more than one or two students in class at any given time. "Bullying dispute erupts at Wayne school over 'Taliban' comment," by Andrea Alexander for the Record, November 12 (thanks to Pamela Geller):
WAYNE -- On one side, a Wayne Valley High school student claims that his use of the word "Taliban" was innocent, mentioned in a conversation about a video game, according to his mother.
But to a Muslim student who overheard it at school on Thursday, it was upsetting. And she had perceived that he had looked at her when he said it, Principal Robert Reis said.
Now the boy is facing a one-day suspension on Monday, because, Reis said, he continued to talk about the incident and it got back to the girl and upset her. Reis said she felt the boy was boasting that he'd gotten away with something.
"This has nothing to do with the fact that the boy used a word," Reis said. "This has everything to do with the boy hurt a girl's feelings." And after the boy was told by administrators not to discuss what happened, Reis said, "He went back and hurt her feelings a second time."
But the boy's mother, Rosa Giordano, said the incident "is totally being blown out of proportion" and she plans to fight the disciplinary action....
"I don't want this on his record as a racial slur and bullying," she said. "I am sorry the girl got offended by the world 'Taliban.' I will make sure my son never says the word again ... the poor kid is so upset he doesn't want to go to school."
Actually, Mrs. Giordano, "Taliban" is not a race.
Reis said administrators had planned to treat the situation as a teachable moment and meet simultaneously with both students to talk about it. The boy was suspended after the girl came to Reis upset a second time....
"A teachable moment" -- in other words, more Muslim claims of victimhood and evasion of responsibility.

And this, related, also from Jihad Watch:
UK: Muslim children threaten to murder classmate who supported British troops
The Daily Mail's headline is part of the problem: "Five Muslim boys and white girl." "Muslim" is not a race, and Darius Gill was not threatened because of race. He was threatened by children who are being raised in a radically intolerant, supremacist belief system that inculcates hatred of and contempt for people of other belief-systems. They do, however, call Darius "racist" for posting a tribute to British soldiers, because they have already learned from their elders that this is an effective tactic they can use to claim victim status -- even in the midst of issuing murderous threats.
Note also that the principal says that Facebook is the problem. As Pamela Geller notes, "So Facebook is the problem? The method of delivery is the problem, but not the nature of the death threat. Delusional." If they wrote the threats on paper, I guess they'd be banning spiral notebooks from the school.
"Five Muslim boys and white girl, all 12, excluded over Facebook death threats to classmate who supported British troops," by Claire Ellicott in the Daily Mail, November 17 (thanks to John):
As the nation paused on Remembrance Day to honour those who had sacrificed their lives for their country, one schoolboy felt particularly proud.
Moved by their bravery, Darius Gill penned a patriotic and heartfelt tribute to the soldiers who had lost their lives at war.
But unknown to the 13-year-old schoolboy, some of his peers took exception to his comments.
A gang of 12-year-old pupils made up of five Muslim boys and one white girl, began plotting a vicious attack on Darius - whose father is Asian - for supporting British troops.
The pupils, none of whom can be named for legal reasons, have now been suspended from a school in Coventry and may be expelled after posting their chilling threats online.
One message - littered with spelling mistakes - said: 'Fight on Monday gonna be heavy knuckle dusters nd knifes hopefully I don't die.'
Another pupil added: 'ill bang him ma slef am a terrorist.'
One member of the gang also posted a picture of himself holding a rifle and threatened to hijack a plane.
Other pupils - who have set up a Muslim Defence League which celebrates British deaths in Afghanistan - also added comments condemning Darius....
Even yesterday, one of the yobs, who can't be named because of their age, bragged about being quizzed by police and continued his threats to attack Darius.
He posted: 'IM IN TROUBLE WIV DE POLICE CUZ OF SUSSPICIAN OF THREAT TO DARIUS OVER FB U HAVE A RITE TO REMAIN SILENCE!!! (JOKES) BUT IM IN TROUBLLE WIV DE POLICE IM BANGGIN DARIUS THURSDAY NO1 JUMP IN 1 v 1.'
The abuse and threats came after Darius posted two pictures showing British troops on Armistice Day on facebook.
On November 11, he wrote: 'RIP TO ALL THE LADS WHO NEVER MADE IT HOME.'
He was then branded 'racist' and two of the accused pupils began a flurry of MSN messages to each other setting out what they were going to do to Darius.
One wrote to Darius on facebook saying 'r u being racist?' and criticised him for failing to acknowledge the dead soldiers in the Middle East....
The unnamed pupil's facebook profile is full of chilling references to Islamic fundamentalism and shows a picture of him posing with an AK47 rifle.
He also penned a terrifying poem about hijacking a plane.
On November 12, he wrote: 'You better watch what the **** flies outta ya mouth.
'Or I'ma hijack a plane and fly it into your house Burn your apartment with your family tied to the couch.
'And slit your throat, so when you scream, only blood comes out.'
Principal Wendy Thomas said facebook was an increasing concern for schools.
She said: 'Darius is the victim of bullying. All the students involved have told me they did not mean what they said but they will learn a hard lesson from this.
'Facebook is a big concern for schools and we urge all parents to monitor what their children say on the site....
Facebook ain't your problem, Wendy.

And lastly, this, also related, also from Jihad Watch:
University of California-Irvine reinstates Muslim group with history of shouting down opponents and supporting jihad terror
Tolerance: the MSU and other Islamic supremacists on various campuses "maintain a double standard--one that regards any negative comment about Islam or Muhammad as hate speech (and deserving of punishment or death, according to some) but considers violent rhetoric against Israel and the Jewish people a duty." "'We will fight you,'" by Jill Nelson in World Magazine, November 20 (thanks to AKW):
When a Muslim organization on a campus known for free speech tries to shut up those with a different viewpoint, what's the right penalty? At the University of California, Irvine (UCI), home to approximately 23,000 students and one of the most virulent Muslim student groups in the nation, administrators are choosing a slap on the wrist.
UCI's 2010 travail began in February when the Muslim Student Union (MSU) orchestrated a protest of Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren's speech at UCI. Emails obtained by administrators revealed the MSU plan for students one by one to heckle the ambassador. Campus officials issued a warning the group chose to ignore.
The interruptions continued--consuming more than 30 minutes of the ambassador's speech--until police escorted from the building and arrested 11 protesters, eight of them UCI students. Then the remaining protesters exited, chanting slogans in unison as they left. UCI suspended MSU, which is funded by compulsory student fees, for 12 months, but in September cut the suspension by two-thirds: The suspension will now end on Dec. 31, with MSU remaining on "probation."
MSU has a history of disturbances and support for terrorist groups.
In May it sponsored a speech by Amir-Abdel Malik-Ali, an imam associated with the Muslim organization As-Sabiqun. Malik-Ali gripped a campus podium displaying the slogan "Israel, the Fourth Reich" and called Jews "the new Nazis." He thrust forward a thinly veiled threat: "Your days are numbered. We will fight you. We will fight either until we are martyred or until we are victorious!" A group of students responded with the jihadist battle cry, "Allahu Akbar!" [...]
After this year's "Israeli Apartheid Week," Wolf launched a campaign to refund a portion of the estimated $6,500 in mandatory students fees allocated to the MSU for the four-day event. Malik-Ali's vocal support for Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad--all considered terrorist organizations by the U.S. government--constitutes a breach of campus policy, Wolf said. Last year MSU hosted British politician George Galloway and allegedly solicited funds for his organization, Viva Palestina, which has links to Hamas documented by the Investigative Project on Terrorism.
The university has not reached a decision about the student refunds, but the ultimate goal, according to Wolf, is to prevent future student fees from being used to sponsor speakers like Malik-Ali or Galloway.
Neelie Milstein, a December 2009 graduate of UCI, says she hadn't felt attacked for being Jewish until she came to the university in 2006. She recalls her first encounter with some of the MSU's more visual propaganda: "I first saw an Israeli flag and thought, 'Where's the hate in this?' And then as the flag continued to blow in the wind, I realized there was blood all over it." [...]
Other visual demonstrations are equally disturbing: posters of Muslim women saying, "God bless Hitler," swastikas and the Star of David displayed side by side, a mock "apartheid wall" complete with students dressed as Hamas "freedom fighters," and posters of Muslim women sporting AK-47s are a few of the group's choice props.
Some Jewish students claim they've also been physically attacked. None has reported serious injuries but many are clearly frustrated by what they say is a lackluster response on the part of the university. "They cause a lot of hate on campus," Milstein said.
UCI, like other college campuses, appears to be entangled in a discussion about First Amendment rights. The crux of the disagreement centers on the definitions of free speech and hate speech and to whom these rules apply. Radical Muslims maintain a double standard--one that regards any negative comment about Islam or Muhammad as hate speech (and deserving of punishment or death, according to some) but considers violent rhetoric against Israel and the Jewish people a duty, according to Islamist interpretations of the Koran, and a constitutional right under the First Amendment....
Read it all.
