Obama says Jihad has different interpretations and Islam is a great religion


Maybe some progressive liberal can educate me on this. When was the last time Obama called Judiasm, Christianity, or even Hinduism a “great religion”? Obama’s suck up to Muslims continues as he called Islam a “great religion” in an interview with the an Indian newspaper called The Hindu. Not only does Obama yet again claim what a great religion Islam is, but he basically defended Jihad, or at least the term. Obama calls the Jihad a phrase that has “a lot of meanings within Islam”:



“The phrase jihad has a lot of meaning within Islam and is subject to a lot of different interpretations, but I will say that first Islam is one of the world’s great religions. More than a billion people practise Islam and an overwhelming majority view their obligations to a religion that reaffirms peace, fairness, tolerance. I think all of us recognise that this great religion in the hands of a few extremists has been distorted by violence,”





According to the Qur’an Jihad has only two objectives:



Persecution or establish supremacy of God, through Islam, in the Arabian Peninsula



Seems pretty simple to me what Jihad means. Maybe to a progressive like Obama, having two objectives is “a lot of different meanings.”
