Christian Poltician Murdered In Pakistan: "I Have Been Told By Pro-Taliban Religious Extremists That If I Will Continue To Speak Against The Blasphemy Law, I Will Be Beheaded."

From Jihad Watch:

Christian politician murdered in Pakistan: "I have been told by pro-Taliban religious extremists that if I will continue to speak against the blasphemy law, I will be beheaded"

Bhatti made similar statements in the video I posted here. And now he is dead: they made good their threats. I dearly hope that this doesn't deter more people from speaking out for justice, but only emboldens them. If we don't have anyone who is willing to take risks in order to defend our freedoms, we will lose those freedoms. Bhatti and Taseer shouldn't have been such lone voices, even in Pakistan: if more people had had the courage to speak out, the Islamic jihad murderers wouldn't have been able to kill them all.

"Pakistan's only Christian minister assassinated over blasphemy row," from the Telegraph, March 2 (thanks to Ron):

[...] He said during a trip to Canada: “I have been told by pro-Taliban religious extremists that if I will continue to speak against the blasphemy law, I will be beheaded.” But he said his faith gave him strength.

“As a Christian, I believe Jesus is my strength. He has given me a power and wisdom and motivation to serve suffering humanity. I follow the principles of my conscience, and I am ready to die and sacrifice my life for the principles I believe,” he said.
