U.K.: Planning Council Rejects Mosque Proposal After Anti-Semitic Video Found On Islamic Society's Web-Site

From Jihad Watch:

U.K.: Planning council rejects mosque proposal after antisemitic video found on Islamic society's website

The way these things usually go, we'll hear next that this has all been "taken out of context." Other reasons were put forth for ultimately recommending rejection, but one holds out hope that they were having none of that antisemitic barking in Dagenham or Barking.

"Mosque plans criticised after 'anti-Semitic' row," by John Phillips for the Barking & Dagenham Post, January 13 (thanks to Twostellas):

Plans to open a controversial mosque in Dagenham should be turned down at a planning meeting on Monday, council officers are recommending.

Barking and Dagenham planning chiefs have recommended the proposals be rejected, on the grounds they would increase noise, parking and undermine the vitality of the shopping area.

The website of Becontree Heath Islamic Society, which is planning to open the place of worship in Green Lane, also had a link to a YouTube clip making anti-Semitic comments.

The video titled Becontree Health Islamic Society (Dagenham Central Mosque) was taken down in November.Posted by Marisol on January 13, 2011 3:33 PM
