Nigerian archbishop prods government to find terrorists' sponsorsMarch 16, 2012
Archbishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama of Jos, Nigeria, has voiced concerns about reports that the country’s government is prepared to negotiate with the Boko Haram terrorist group.
"I do not know what the government is doing, but I know that Boko Haram is a ruthless group that sends people to kill themselves to kill others. I do not know how you deal with them,” the archbishop told the Fides news agency. Boko Haram has been involved in a series of terror bombings aimed at Christian targets in northern Nigeria.
Noting that the terrorist group appears to have ample equipment and expertise, Archbishop Kaigama suggested that the government should devote its energies to identifying the group’s sources of support. He said that there is evidence the terrorists “have had an excellent training outside Nigeria.”
